"Solutions, initiatives at the international level, practice of countering counterfeit medical products and protecting public health"

Issues: Counterfeiting of medical products threaten public health and the integrity of health systems at the global level. Counterfeiting is a global phenomenon and its scale increases significantly every year. The development of technologies at all stages of the supply chain increases the criminals’ ability to produce, transport and deliver dangerous counterfeit medical products to customers, who do not realize this is a counterfeit product. This important issue requires the international response and is the subject of the Council of Europe Convention on the counterfeiting of medical products and similar crimes involving threats to public health (Medicrime Convention).
